Warmer mild weather means: Summer is here!  Now is the time to try out some fun outdoor activities.

Being near the beach and bay allows unique activities such as kayaking, surfing and paddle boarding. At Ocean Experience Surf School, you can rent all the equipment needed to try on a little summer adventure. They also provide instruction (group and private available) and offer guided kayak tours around the bay and coast line. Ocean Experience Surf School is just over a mile from Nimitz Pointe Apartments, making it easy to get your adventure started. To find out more information about rentals and classes, visit http://obsurfandskate.com

Another fun thing to do in the area is to do the Mission Bay Trail Loop. It’s a 10-12 mile mostly-flat bike path perfect, for wheels or walking. Along the way you’ll get different views of the bay. Be sure to pack a lunch and make a full day of it. There will be picnic tables, bathrooms and playgrounds along the way.  Visit this link for a map with a highlighted route: http://www.sk8.org/other/mission.html or search Mission Bay Trail on the web.

I hope this post has given you inspiration to get out there and enjoy the summer weather. If you don’t currently live in the area, but would like to, please email or call me. I have a spacious 1 bedroom with a walk in closet, coat closet, plus a linen closet coming available. This apartment is 725 square feet with a great patio for BBQ’ing or just relaxing.

Cinco de Mayo is a favored day of celebration for many Southern California residents and being in San Diego means even more fun. This year the San Diego Padres start the excitement by holding their San Diego Padres’ Cinco De Mayo Party on Friday the 4th starting at 5pm at Petco Park (less than 10 miles away). They’ll be offering $5 beers, $5 margaritas, and $5 carnitas tacos. The actual game starts at 7pm against the Florida Marlins.

Then on May 5th consider spending some time in lively Old Town (3 miles away); the first permanent Spanish settlement in the state. The festival starts at 1pm and will have mariachis, Latin jazz, dancers and of course, delicious Mexican dishes and authentic margaritas.

If you’re looking for a lighter way to celebrate this weekend you can also check out the FREE Cinco de Mayo Concert in the Park featuring the SDSU Jazz Orchestra and Chamber Choir at 5pm. This event will be held at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion at Balboa Park (8 miles away). This beautiful back drop will enhance even more, the great music performed. Afterwards you take a stroll through Balboa Park and enjoy some dining.

Or, if your looking for an apartment, you can also come by our community. I’ll be in the office from 10am until 2pm showing a fantastic 1 bedroom on the top floor. This large 725 sqft apartment has a walking closet in the bedroom plus another good sized closet in the hallway, in addition to the linen closet. The bathroom is fresh and spacious. The large living room looks out to a large west facing balcony where you can BBQ or just take in that great ocean breeze coming in. It's a great sunny apartment. Plus- the entire apartment has brand new carpet and is ready for an immediate or near immediate move-in.

Come by and say Hi J
